In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Eta Xi Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., we are raising funds to establish a Georgia Commitment Scholarship at the University of Georgia. This scholarship will be a giant step toward eliminating the financial obstacles for those seeking a UGA education.

The purpose of the 1973 Eta Xi Alumni Association Inc., Georgia Commitment Scholarship Fund is to bring diversity to the University of Georgia and to provide need-based aid for underserved students studying in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences who have overcome socioeconomic obstacles. This award will assist students who have a reported family income less than tuition and fees. For many, this means everything in their college experience—housing, food, transportation, tuition, etc. Recipients will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Once we have raised $50,000, the UGA Foundation will match our gift dollar-for-dollar to bring our endowment to $100,000!
